Who works at Incursion Cyber Security?

Incursion Cyber Security is run by the people who do the work. Every penetration test is scoped and delivered by a named consultant on this page, and every certificate we issue is signed off by one of them. Professional titles shown are issued by the UK Cyber Security Council and can be verified on its register.

Meet the team

Lewis Lockwood ChCSP, Founder | Director of Incursion Cyber Security

I found penetration testing when leaving the Army and was instantly hooked. The job keeps me on my toes and delivers true, real-world impact to organisations of all sizes. But I quickly became disillusioned by the way the industry ran behind the scenes: clients prioritised by how much they can be charged, consultants pushed to burn out, sales teams pushing what’s shiny and new over what’s actually needed to secure a business. I figured I could complain about it or I could do something about it. Cue Incursion: the right way to do things (or as close to ‘right’ as I can get it).

Lewis hacks computers, I hack brains. Thankfully, neither of us is allowed to do it without permission.

I’ve worked as a psychotherapist for the past ten years, and alongside my own practice and raising our two young children, I’m proud to play an active role in Incursion. Lewis and I share a strong belief in honesty, integrity, doing things properly and going the extra mile. We work closely on the bigger decisions and challenges facing the business, and I’m particularly passionate about making sure our people feel valued, recognised and rewarded. I’m often asking Lewis, “That’s brilliant… so how are we rewarding them for it?”

There are some surprising similarities between our worlds: trust, confidentiality, curiosity and looking beneath the surface. I also love the creative side of Incursion, helping our branding and content reflect what Incursion stands for: great people, exceptional work and, above all, doing right by our clients and our team.

I think I was always going to end up doing something that involved breaking things to understand how they worked. As a kid, I was once found under the sink taking the plumbing apart, much to my parents’ panic. That curiosity never really went away: my first laptop was in pieces within hours, and whenever I got a new iPod or iPhone, jailbreaking it was basically step one.

Cyber security feels like the grown-up version of that same curiosity. I enjoy understanding how systems can be broken, exploring the weird edge cases and rabbit holes, and then using what I find to help organisations make their systems more resilient. No two assessments are quite the same, which keeps the work interesting, and I particularly enjoy finding vulnerabilities with genuine impact and turning technical findings into clear, practical advice.

What draws me to offensive security is the mindset it demands: thinking like a genuine adversary and finding the path nobody meant to leave open. Whether I’m researching a target, testing how people respond under pressure or walking through a front door that was never meant to be opened, the best part is the moment a plan comes together and you’re standing somewhere you shouldn’t be. It’s a job that rewards curiosity, creativity and a refusal to accept that anything is truly locked down.

Jamie Thomson

Senior Business Development Manager

I love interacting with people and making connections with businesses. Whilst sales can be seen as a naughty word, I like to think of it as problem solving. We provide services that genuinely help people and make them more secure in their operations.

My favourite thing about this role is hearing all the different stories from people in the industry: every day is a school day, and some of the stories in the cyber world are simply wild.

How the team works

Every engagement has a named lead consultant who scopes it, delivers it and answers for the report. Developing testers work within a team under a signed-off consultant and are never left unsupervised on client work; they do not scope engagements. Solo engagements are monitored and supported by senior staff until the consultant has been formally signed off. We hire senior-first so the balance of experience in the team stays high as it grows. If you are interested in joining, see working at Incursion.

Ready to scope a test?

Book a call. Our sales team will set it up and handle the proposal; an active penetration tester agrees the scope with you. No obligation.
