What is it like to work at Incursion Cyber Security?
Incursion Cyber Security is a small, senior team that is growing carefully. This page explains how we hire, how we bring people on, and how to register your interest. It is not a list of current vacancies. We recruit a small number of people each year, and we would rather hear from the right person at any time than only when a role is advertised.
How we hire
We build the team senior-first, so that the people delivering your test have the depth to do it well, and the people still developing always have someone experienced alongside them. Most of our recruitment is for consultants who already hold, or are close to holding, UK Cyber Security Council professional titles. We also make room to develop the right people into the role.
How we bring people on
Nobody works on a client engagement unsupervised until they have been formally signed off by senior staff. Consultants who are still developing work as part of a team, and they do not scope engagements. Where someone works on their own, that work is monitored and supported by a senior consultant until sign-off. This protects the quality of your test, and it gives people a real route to develop rather than being dropped in at the deep end.
Who we want to hear from
We welcome applications from experienced penetration testers. We are also structured to develop people coming into the industry, including those leaving the Armed Forces or the emergency services, and graduates with the aptitude and drive to qualify. A military or Blue Light background is not required, but if that is you, you will find an employer that understands where you are coming from.
How we work
We protect time for development. Consultants are not asked to spend more than 85% of their working time on client projects; the rest is for research, training and progression. We do not double up consultants on a single job, and we do not bump a smaller client for a larger one that books later. The company runs on the values the founder carried over from the British Army: courage, discipline, respect for others, integrity, loyalty and selfless commitment.
Register your interest
If you would like to be considered, tell us a little about yourself and your experience and we will keep it on file. When we next recruit, these are the people we contact first.
